Live recording with Xsens Awinda hardware
- Record directly inside Motionprint Ergo — connect an Xsens Awinda dock and capture motion data live, with no separate export/import step through Xsens MVN Analyze required. A recording is ready to score the moment it's captured.
- MVN SDK integration — Motionprint Ergo now talks to the Awinda hardware directly, handling sensor discovery, pairing, and streaming itself.
- Sessions — each session carries the subject's details and can hold multiple recordings, so several tasks for the same person no longer need to be re-entered separately.
Hardware setup & calibration
- Guided hardware setup — scan for sensors, assign them to body segments, and resolve duplicate-tracker conflicts from a dedicated setup screen before recording starts.
- Automatic tracker allocation — sensors are matched to segments automatically, with a manual override available for any sensor that needs reassigning.
- N-pose or T-pose & walk calibration — a guided calibration flow walks the subject through the standard N-pose or T-pose and a short walk before recording, the same calibration Xsens MVN itself relies on.
Reviewing recordings & reporting
- New recording viewer — play back a recording in the 3D viewer with switchable camera views (3D, front, side, top), and trim it to the relevant section before running an assessment.
- Select a recording as your input — creating a RULA, NIOSH, or KIM-LHC report now offers "select a recording" alongside uploading an .mvnx file, so an in-app recording and an Xsens MVN export work interchangeably everywhere in the app.
- Recordings database — browse, filter, and manage every saved recording from its own database page alongside the projects database, and start a new report straight from a recording.
- NIOSH task pre-check — each lifting task's geometry is now checked upfront, disabling Process — with the reason — for a task the NIOSH equation can't calculate, instead of the report later showing N/A.
Settings
- Database naming templates — default naming templates for both the Projects and Recordings databases can now be set in Settings → General → Database, similar to the per-method PDF/Excel filename templates already available under Settings → Report.
v1.0.3 moves Motionprint Ergo from importing recordings to capturing them — connect Xsens Awinda hardware and record, review, and score a task without leaving the app.
RULA assessment method
- RULA added as a third method — Rapid Upper Limb Assessment joins NIOSH and KIM-LHC on the method selection screen. Where those two evaluate manual handling, RULA scores working posture itself, so it applies to assembly, machine operation, and screen-based work.
- Scored from the motion capture data — Upper arm, lower arm, wrist, wrist twist, neck, trunk and legs are derived per frame from the recording and combined through the method's Table A, Table B and Table C lookups into a score from 1 to 7.
- Posture tasks — RULA uses posture tasks rather than lifting tasks. Each marks one working posture or repeated motion cycle, and the highest-risk frame is found within each one.
- Automatic muscle use detection — Static posture and repetition are detected from the recording and the trimmed duration, producing separate muscle use scores for the arm/wrist and neck/trunk/leg groups.
- Leg stability scored from the recording — The legs score is calculated automatically from the motion data. The system detects which feet are grounded and measures how evenly body weight is distributed over them, so no manual leg-position input is needed.
- Full report output — Score overview, in-depth analysis with the 3D viewer and per-frame graph, findings, and PDF and Excel export, matching the structure of the existing methods.
- RULA report settings — A dedicated settings page for critical moment detection, the averaged overview, viewport layout, and export templates.
Task naming
- Describe each task — Tasks can be given a description when you define them, and your own name is used wherever that task appears: the results-page selector, the PDF contents and page headings, and the Excel worksheet tabs. "Lifting from pallet" reads better than "Lifting task 3".
- Method-appropriate wording — The interface says posture task for RULA and lifting task for NIOSH and KIM-LHC, consistently across screens and exports.
Settings awareness on saved projects
- Settings changed banner — Opening a saved project whose settings no longer match your current ones now shows an informational banner, instead of leaving the mismatch to surface later at save time. The report is still shown and exported exactly as it was saved.
- Presentation and analysis separated — The save dialog now groups changed settings into those that can be applied to an existing report and those that are fixed for it. Analysis settings stay with the report so its scores remain comparable over time.
- Save as New — When saving a reopened project you can store a second copy instead of overwriting, keeping the version you already shared intact.
Reporting & export consistency
- Shared report styling — PDF and Excel output now draw on common styling and workbook modules across all three methods, so tables, headings and colour bands stay consistent between reports.
- NIOSH and KIM-LHC refinements — Continued presentation and export improvements to both existing methods alongside the RULA work.
Licensing & workflow polish
- Licence settings rework — A clearer licence settings page with improved activation and device status presentation.
- Project loading feedback — An explicit loading state when opening a project from the database, so large assessments no longer appear to hang.
- Interface polish — Hover tooltips for inline help, plus refinements to shared inputs including the number stepper, date selector, and gender selector.

- Global privacy controls — Operator name, evaluator name, and subject identity display preferences are applied consistently across the interface, reports, and exports.
- Saved-project consistency — Reopened projects preserve the settings context used when they were originally saved, including branding configuration.
- Settings comparison flow — When saving a reopened project, if the current app settings differ from the settings stored with that project, a dialog lets you choose which settings to apply before the report is updated.

- NIOSH presentation refinements — Improved clarity in multiplier display and risk state rendering across report sections.
